In the village of Manavi, Kaketi, there is a hive of activity in Shorena Potsverashvili’s kitchen. In this big family, everybody helps. The children are helping their mother prepare tatara for churchkhela; figs, fennel and quince jam are boiling away on the stove and Shorena brings home black, red and green plums to prepare for making Tklapi.

The house is full of sweet aromas and the music of Chakrulo floats through the air. Mrs. Shorena enjoys every detail of this process and she praises her children for their help before returning to the work. For Shorena, all this is a source of great pleasure.
