71% of the world is covered by water and it’s the job of a fisherman to source the best bits. Fishing is not just a hobby, but a love and vocation that people often spend a lifetime perfecting. Fishermen are hardy people, forged in harsh weather and blessed with godly patience. Vazik’s grandad was one of those men, content to be alone with his fishing rod, wearing the same red sun-faded hat and inspiring his grandson at the same time.

Now, at the age of 16, Vazik’s knowledge of fish is equal to that of a man 20 years his elder. From feeding, to cleaning, to preparing for food, he has seen and done it all. He works on the fish farm in Shaumiani and takes pride in caring for the sturgeon there. His responsibilities include feeding the fish, cleaning the water and monitoring the temperature levels.
